In May 2023, we held the 16th Canadian IBRO School in Montreal, a two-week in-person school for student in the 14th and 15th virtual schools. Students completed the virtual schools by presenting their research at the Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) annual meeting, observed experiments in progress, learned about the latest imaging techniques and equipment, carried out hands-on labs, and visited with Canadian neuroscientists in the Montreal-Ottawa- region.

The 14th Canadia-IBRO School for Neuroscience was held virtually in May 2021.

The theme of this year’s school was Development, Plasticity, and Repair of Neural Circuits.

Neural Circuits and Plasticity in Health and Disease
 
The 12th Canadian School of Neuroscience (April 29th to May 16st, 2018) on Neural Circuits and Plasticity in Health and Disease took place in Montreal and Vancouver. This North American/Canadian School of Neuroscience supports the idea that developed countries should become the base for international neuroscience education.

The 11th Canadian IBRO School of Neuroscience – Development, Plasticity, and Repair of Neural Circuit - took place from May 11 – 31, 2017 at McGill University, Montreal, QC.

The goal of this program is to give the Interns an opportunity to learn about topics central to graduate education and neuroscience research in Africa and Latin America. In these countries, how are graduate programs structured, how are students selected and funded, and how much mobility do these students have?
